The Great Race, a car rally of restored touring quality vehicles cris-crossed four west coast states in their nine-day excursion in 2019. The tour covered over 2000 miles with 120 antique automobiles visiting 18 cities.
Arriving at the event, I noticed the directional light casting through the city streets, which is “good light” in the photography world. My approach in capturing these images is to step closer with the goal of capturing individual elements of these classic, and vintage vehicles.
This was a family event with many people out to view the rally car. It was quite fun to view the interaction of people and vehicles. What a sight to behold! There were many wonderful touring vehicles parked all about downtown Chico, and even more driving about. This gallery is just a few the many vehicles participating in The Great Race 2019.
With the many reflective surfaces, I work to locate other elements (clouds, car reflections) in the reflective surfaces. The goal is to create more than an image. I hope you enjoy viewing these images. Thanks for taking a look.
