The Metal of Honor Fusion Car Show was simple event by design, and there were many great looking and fun cars to check out. And trucks too! There was a stage for announcements, and the awards presentation, plus they had live music, as well. The show was held in the outer parking lot of a retail store in Chico, CA.
With many that photograph show cars and trucks seeking to capture an entire vehicle in an image, my approach is to step into a photograph; to get a bit closer, and capture an element of the overall vehicle.
With this project, I’m looking to use the ambient or available light to capture the image. I capture images with a short depth of field which to blurs much of the image. I also look to capture reflections within the shiny surfaces of these vehicle images.
I hope viewing my images tells a bit of a story, as well. Thanks for taking a look.
After years of delaying the start of this photo project, this event was my first outing as a photographer to a car show. As you can see by the images, there was a wide variety of cars and trucks to photograph at the event, that day. And the weather was perfect.
